Xbox 360 Owners Angry, Frustrated Over Medal of Honor Beta Delay
By Justin Massoud
The multiplayer beta for Medal of Honor’s reboot was supposed to hit Xbox Live on June 21st – the same day it debuted on the PlayStation 3 and PC. Yet here we are, on July 1st, and not only is it still unavailable on just the Xbox 360, but a firm release date is as hard to find as bin Laden. Needless to say, there are plenty of gamers none too pleased about this — the beta not being up yet, I mean. Most gamers are more concerned with map packs and arguing over game review scores than the war in Afghanistan.
Keep reading for some of the most angry/funny comments.
GameFAQs user celtslammer91 flat-out states that EA just lost a sale: “Well EA/DICE just made up my mind that I’m not going to get this game. The fact of the matter is that they were going to release the beta on the 17′th to VIP members of BFBC2, than[sic] the whole thing gets delayed for the 21st. Again it’s delayed til the very end of June. All the while the people over on PS3 have been playing this since the 21st… Now explain to me why I shouldn’t cancel my pre-order considering they seem to treat their customers like crap before they even buy their game?”
Delaying a multiplayer beta to ensure it runs smoothly is the equivalent of treating potential customers like crap? I’d think the delay meant the opposite: that EA and DICE were working hard to make sure that when the beta did launch on the Xbox 360 that it would be the best it could be. By the way, you’re so going to buy the game anyway.
A tweet on the official Medal of Honor Twitter page by tweeter (twit?) Nelson2030 implies a more meta-physical reason for the delay, positing “Xbox 360 version of the MoH beta delayed karma paying you back for what Infinity Ward has done to PC and PS3.”
You hear that, Xbox 360 owners? The delay was caused by bad karma brought on by an entirely different company making unpopular choices in relation to two other gaming platforms’ fanbases. Maybe saying a kind word to the next person you play online instead of insulting their mom will get the beta up quicker. (Note: It definitely won’t, but it wouldn’t hurt all the same. Seriously — you guys are mean!)
Twitter user jagrock just feels slighted: “No info on the 360 MoH beta is DISRESPECTFUL to say the least. Don’t need a date, just don’t leave us hanging each day!”
It’s not often game companies blatantly disrespect consumers, but this is apparently one of those times. I say we all write emails to EA and make crass “Yo mama is so fat…” jokes to disrespect them back.
Or just relax, play your online competitive multiplayer shooter of choice, and patiently wait for the beta.

I'd get used to it 360 owners. Microsoft's clearly in bed with Activision, which will obviously make it's biggest competitor (EA), pursue different avenues. The PC alone boasts roughly 6x the 360's population, add in the PS3, and well, there's really no need for a 360 beta. Believe me, I've heard the same excuse from developers when they answer why there's no PC or PS3 beta. Remember, this is to find bugs, glitches, imbalances, not to get a free play on a new IP.

i don't mind the delayed beta as i have other games i can play while waiting for it. what most bothers me is EA/DICE's track record on these kind of things. remember the number of server issues they had with both Battlefield: Bad Company games and Battlefield 1943? and now here they are having issues with the MOH beta. this partnership seems to undermine the other and the result is always pissed off gamers. this delay is nothing more than another screw up from a lesson EA/DICE seem to refuse to learn.

This game isn't worth it ayway. It's like a worse MW2 mixed with a worse bc2

@Mornelithe
"PC alone boasts roughly 6x the 360's pop…"
Don't twist facts. Were talking game for game here. Look at BFBC2 stats page. 1.71m 360 players, 1.41m PS3 players, & 1.57 PC players. I think that is about even; not 6x.

If ea wants to do what activision and microsoft are doing with exclusives thats fine, but it would be nice to have a date to look foward to. Plus it doesnt matter ea didnt put out enough game tokens. looks like medal of honor will stay behind call of duty once again.

Good news might be, they will make an extra effort for those on xbox…idk but burned out on MW2 & BC2…need my fix!

Well Microsoft usually gets things to 360 before PS3 and PC anyway right? The way I see it, 360 owners don't have room to complain about this at all. Seeing as though PS3 users don't even know when they will get their hands on the latest MW2 map pack.

I don't think the issue is who got it first, but more so that 360 owners never got it at all. Many people preordered the game so that they could play the Beta. It is the same as paying your cable bill (as they bill a month in advance) and then not being able to watch it due to some network issue.
I mos def agree with folks canceling their preorders… I mean its not like you won't be able to get a copy…. that is, if you still want one.

Fanboism is lol.
Beta testing is not even for customer, but for people trying to improve something.
Anyway, they are not missing much.

As a shooter fan, I tend to like to TRY the games, usually a demo or beta before I purchase. Particularly when it's a multiplayer title. In this instance, I can't try it, so I'll be danged if im gonna spend $60 on a game "sight unseen". If the beta or demo is available before launch, and its good, I'll pick it up. But as of right now, it's not looking good for MOH. These guys need to get on the ball.

well sure as you can see a limited edition version of the game is ONLY relesing for the PS3 and I've been waiting for this dumb game since last year and this happens

What a terrible article, basically making fun of the fact gamers are frustrated with a company that doesnt update its customers 5 or more days at a time.
