bayonetta Bayonetta Tip: How to Get Halos, Fast

If you love Bayonetta but hate trolling around for halos just to buy more items and unlock new costumes, IGN offers a couple easy Bayonetta halo tips. Best of all, the first trick can be performed in Chapter 1. At the Vigrid train station, hop up to the second floor and smash every bench you see. Once you’ve destroyed the last bench, immediately jump down onto the train and ride it into the tunnel. You’ll get 10,000 halos, and will be allowed to restart the level. Keep repeating this trick as many times as you like.

The second trick requires the following: The Durga weapon on your hands, the Durga alternate set for your feet, plus Selene’s Light (activates witch time when hit) and Gaze of Despair (increases combo multiplier). You must also have the Durga weapons in Blue Lightning mode, activated by rotating the left stick and pressing punch or kick. Go to chapter 11 and use punches and kicks to fight your enemies, entering witch time whenever possible. If you’re about to lose a combo, hit an enemy with your gun to keep it going. After the final enemy is defeated, hold the taunt button to save your combo count for the next fight. At the boss, keep mashing the punch button and you’ll bag hundreds of thousands of halos.

Also, here’s a tip I found at the Playstation boards: In the first Alfheim portal in mission 3, pick a bow off the ground and use the kick button to start picking off enemies. Grab a new bow when the one you’re holding breaks and repeat. Let the final enemy kill you with one hit left, and you’ll rack up between 40,000 and 70,000 halos in a matter of minutes. Repeat until you’re filthy rich. Be sure to check out IGN’s video if you want to see Jessica Chabot barely hold back her lack of enthusiasm. [via IGN and Playstation Boards]

Hi all, I have tried the tip at the Vigrid train station, but when I return to my latest level my halo count has returned to its previous amount. How do you retain the halos from one chapter to another?
