grand theft auto v Zelnick: Grand Theft Auto V Announcement Wont Be Announced

Big video game franchises tend to operate on a two-year cycle, but that’s not the case with Grand Theft Auto. Rockstar Games began teasing Grand Theft Auto IV over a year before the game’s release in April 2008, but so far we haven’t heard a lick about the inevitable follow-up, and publisher Take-Two Interactive’s Strauss Zelnick intends to keep it that way. Here’s what he said during the company’s Q3 earnings call with analysts:

“We’re not going to announce it. We’re not going to announce when we’re going to announce it. And we’re not going to announce the strategy about announcing it or about when we’re going to announce it either, or about the announcement strategy surrounding the announcement of the strategy.

“Any other questions?”

Wait, does this count as an announcement on the announcement? [via VG247]
