Wait, No! Xbox 360′s Not Getting Blu-ray

That Steve Ballmer, always getting Microsoft into trouble, like with yesterday’s tidbit that Xbox 360 owners could someday get Blu-ray as an accessory. As Microsoft’s chief executive officer, Ballmer can say what he likes, but here’s Xbox Live’s director of programming Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb (at right, above) on follow-up: “Steve was referring to Blu-Ray accessories for the PC. As we have said in the past, we have no plans to introduce a Blu-Ray drive for the Xbox 360.” Hryb then talked up the 1080p online video streaming, which will soon come to the Xbox 360. Eh, Blu-ray for the Xbox 360 was probably a bad idea anyway. [via Major Nelson]
