Cheaper Xbox 360 Elite is Real, Xbox 360 Pro Lives (For Now)

The secret was kept horribly, but at least the $300 Xbox 360 Elite is a secret no more. Microsoft has finally confirmed that top-end Xbox 360 model will sell for $100 less, starting tomorrow. The only catch appears to be that there’s no high definition cable included, while the old Elite used to pack an HDMI cable, so you’ll have to shell out another $50 to play in HD now. In other words, the Xbox 360 will actually become more expensive, but you’ll get more in return. But what of the mid-tier Xbox 360 Pro? While supplies last, you can get it for a reduced price of $250, HD component cables and all, and I’d argue that you don’t really need the Elite’s 120 GB hard drive anyway. [via Microsoft]
