NintendoWii Wii Price Cut Official; $200 on Sept. 27

In a move that surprises no one, Nintendo’s Wii got a price cut, from $250 to $200. The new price will be in effect on Sunday, September 27, so you’ve got a few days to scrounge up cash or set a budget. As always, it’s good to remember that the sticker price is much lower than what you’ll actually pay, by the time you add a second controllers and nunchuk, and possibly another game, not to mention taxes. On the bright side, the reduced-price Wii will still come with Wii Sports, the five-in-one sports game that includes bowling, tennis, golf, boxing and baseball. Still, you might be inclined to drop $50 on Wii Sports Resort, which includes the accuracy-boosting MotionPlus add-on. With the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 Elite also getting cheaper, it’s a world of possibilities for people who held out on the current generation for this long. [via USA Today]
