Walkthrough Wednesday: Singularity Hints, Tips and CheatsBy Benjamin Opal
Singularity may try to creep you out with its shifting time periods and bizarre multi-headed ghouls, but it’s not so bad when you’ve got a good walkthrough handy. The game launched on Tuesday for Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows, and already there’s a decent amount of hints and tips handy. Let’s start with the straightforward Singularity video walkthroughs: Video Games Blogger has a collection of YouTube clips, all lined up on a single page, and GamerFuzion has a different set of clips divided into 50 parts. The latter site also has a videos for collecting the “No Time to Bleed” and “That Wheel” achievements (full achievement list here).
As for Singularity’s cheats and hints, here’s a good one courtesy of one player on GameFAQs’ forums: If you get to a checkpoint and are low on health — though I understand the game scatters health packs everywhere — just reload the checkpoint and you’ll be good as new. Also noted on the GameFAQs forums is that most achievement progress does not reset after you beat the game. So lets say you’ve turned 14 soldiers to dust before beating the game; in a new game, just turn one more to dust for “Ashes to Ashes.”
The exception to this rule are upgrades, so for “Time’s On My Side,” for example, you must purchase five TMD upgrades within the same game. To get around this, consider saving your game, pouring all your currency into the five upgrades, equip them all for the achievement, then reload your game.
Oh, and if you beat the game and don’t feel like pursuing the alternate endings, or just can’t finish the game altogether, here’s a video that shows all three Singularity endings.
