Walkthrough Wednesday: Final Fantasy XIII Cheats and Tips
By Benjamin Opal
FINAL FANTASY 13 WALKTHROUGH: With the Japanese release of Final Fantasy XIII months behind us, walkthroughs, hints and tips for FFXII are in steady supply. Here’s a spoiler-free Final Fantasy XIII guide from GameFAQs that’s been updated to include all the U.S. character names. If you’re into videos, YouTube has an 83-part (!) walkthrough of the entire game, unfortunately in Japanese.
Meanwhile, VideoGamesBlogger points us to an easy way to farm for Crystal Points (CP) in Gran Pulse, as posted on YouTube. Basically, you must start with the Optima set-up of ATTACKER/ENHANCER/ENHANCER, wait until you get Haste and Fire elemental offense and then use ATTACKER/BLASTER/BLASTER. Engage two Behemoth-type enemies who attack each other, which always triggers a preemptive strike. Take down the purple beast first, then the white one. Retreat to a save point and return to fight them again, and you’ll get 6600 CP each time.
VGB also found a video guide to collecting all treasures and getting the “Treasure Hunter” trophy, and another for defeating the final three bosses with five stars to get the “Superstar” trophy. And a couple tips on missable FFXIII trophies from GameFAQs user CiberClaw: Scan 100 enemies for “Loremaster,” because only 80 or so are available from post-game missions and posts, and don’t sell any weapons or accessories unless you know they can’t be upgraded further and can’t be bought from a shop, otherwise you might miss “Treasure Hunter” if you’re not following the video guide above.
As for unlockables, here are the trophies you need to get several PS3 character themes, courtesy of Cheat Code Central:
Fang: Get the the “Treasure Hunter” trophy.
Hope: Get the “Instrument Of Change” trophy.
Lightning: Get the “Superstar” trophy.
Sazh: Get the “Lore Master” trophy.
Serah: Get the “Ultimate Hero” trophy.
Snow: Get the “L’Cie Paragon” trophy.
Vanille: Get the “Instrument of Faith” trophy.

I forgot who i had, i had lighting, snow and saz i think or lighting, snow and fang.

Anyone having trouble with Odin still?
start off in offense, until its clear who he has focused his attacks on, using potions to heal. That person will be medic, while the other attacks as a ravager to amount chain bonus'.
Switch medic as he switch's target, You should beat him easy.
As for shiva, just use snows steelguard, if it doesn't work the first time, try throwing in some ravager attacks. Hope ive helped!
Monday, April 5, 2010 2:51PM
set Hope to Medic and Lightning to Ravager you will be set. worked for me
Monday, April 5, 2010 5:05PM
how do u beat obin?
Tuesday, April 6, 2010 7:06PM
If you take a haste thingy before you fight Odin, you'll get the healing in fast. Then you can start healing and if you like, thwacking him a few times.
He chills out half way through the fight, and it makes it a bit easier.

Symbiosis to start, then switch from War&Peace to Dualcasting. Shrouds also help a lot.
Thursday, April 15, 2010 10:31PM
you need a Sentinel for Looming Wrath then use Slash & Burn before you switch to Stumbling Blocks. Use your Saboteur to raise the Gestalt, so alternate Lifeguard and Stumbling Blocks

How do i get back to Gran pulse after beating orphan?
Thursday, June 10, 2010 4:58PM
target the smaller weapons first and not the hull. Start with the lower machine guns and then the missle, then the hull. Also use Light – rav fang- sent hope- medi. and just use light too ruin the shit outta it.
Wednesday, June 16, 2010 8:23AM
The only way I was able to beat it was by using the Random: Instant cain ability with Light' and Sazh. Having a Super Ribbon helps too.
Saturday, June 26, 2010 12:36AM
how easier can this game get?
Thursday, September 16, 2010 7:51AM
use a healer, a commando, and a ravager, 1 setup. also have 2 medics and a comanddo, 2nd setup and MOST IMPORTANT setup a sabatuer highest level, commando, and a ravager. YOU GUYS SHOULD BE FINE!!! make sure to test which is better for certain enemies. most get damaged big time by the ravager but there are some that only take damge to commando attacks!
