Walkthrough Wednesday: Bioshock 2 Hints and Tips

Breaking from tradition this Wednesday, we’ll focus this week on Bioshock 2 walkthroughs, cheats and tips, as there aren’t any new games out this week that demand more urgent attention. Our friends at Mahalo have already put together a written Bioshock 2 walkthrough — quite the tome, as always. If you don’t need that level of hand-holding, but you’re a story nut and don’t want to miss any of the audio diaries, Next Gen Walkthroughs has all the audio diary locations in video form. And courtesy of GameFAQs, here’s a guide to finding all the Power to the People upgrades in the game.

If it’s dirty tricks you’re after, Cheat Code Central has a few good Bioshock 2 exploits. My favorites: Get easy money by entering a slot machine room (e.g., in the Mermaid Lounge), looking left and playing the right-hand slot machine, then saving your game every time you earn money, and loading every time you lose it. Should take about 10 minutes to max out your wallet. Get easy multiplayer experience in Bioshock 2 by having a friend join the opposing team in a game that’s in progress, then find a quiet area with a turret and hack back and forth for 10 XP per hack. Also, this guy on GameFAQs spent about 22 hours reaching level 40 in Bioshock 2′s multiplayer. He says you should play Capture the Sister or Turf War to level up quickly, and has loadout suggestions as well.
