This Super Mario Land Rap is So Bad, It’s Good

Feb 04, 2010 - By Benjamin Opal

I tend to forget about Super Mario Land, because unlike its NES counterparts, the Game Boy classic hasn’t been re-released time and time again on new Nintendo platforms. Fortunately, there’s this Super Mario Land rap to remind us that the game was totally crazy, and had a catchy chiptune soundtrack. Action Adventure World frontman Duane “8BitDuane” Zuwala hits us with such timeless lyrics as “It’s the goomba stompin mushroom poppin mustached man/Koopa clompin’ body dropping fireball in my hand,” and “Mario, I hope you’re ready to die/My space ship shoots 3 balls at a time.” Leans a little too heavily on the crutch of profanity, but I can’t say I disapprove as a whole. Also from 8BitDuane and his crew, raps on Bad Dudes and Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest. Even more on MySpace, and somehow there’s a fan site with lyrics for all these tunes. [via Reddit]
