Each week sees the release of countless downloadable titles across all three major game consoles – some big, some small and some old titles given a new lease on life. In the effort of limiting the time you spend gathering information on these games and increasing the time you spend playing them, we’re doing the legwork for you.

Here are this week’s downloadable releases across the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii.

PlayStation Network

PlayStation 3 owners are privy to “PixelJunk Shooter 2″ this week – the sequel to 2009s surprise indie hit. Speaking of shooting, “Dead Space 2″ fans might be interested in the “Severed” expansion pack, which serves as equal part side story and sequel to last year’s Wii horror game “Dead Space: Extraction.” RPG fans who grew up on Square-developed games will be thrilled to hear the PlayStation classic “Vagrant Story” is now available. “ModNation Racers” also becomes free for PlayStation Plus subscribers. Check out the full list of content here.

WiiWare/Virtual Console

The long-running WiiWare “BIT.TRIP” series comes to an end this week with “BIT.TRIP FLUX.” It’s being billed as the “final adventure,” but when has that stopped video game developers before? “Final Fantasy,” anyone? Unfortunately, the Virtual Console received no “new” games this week. Guess you’re stuck playing “Faxanadu” again.

Xbox Live Arcade

“Beyond Good and Evil 2″ may be in development limbo, but that didn’t stop Ubisoft from releasing the original PS2/Xbox/GCN title on the Xbox 360 this week. It’s just a port, but the addition of HD graphics and achievements may be enough for most. Don’t gloat, Xbox owners — a PSN version is slated for “later this year.” The “Severed” DLC for “Dead Space 2″ is also attainable via XBL now.
