When a first-person shooter sticks around for 11 years, that’s a good sign that players like it just the way it is. That’s also why a co-creator of Counter-Strike, Minh Le, moved. Unable to alter anything in the game without upsetting fans, and under pressure from the publisher, Valve, to create a sequel or some other huge new shooter, Le decided instead to form his own company. Having saved up money by living with his parents, Le eventually formed a small development team in South Korea, where they’re working on Tactical Invasion. The game, expected for PC by the end of the year, is quite similar to Counter-Strike, but with a few additions, such as civilians that actively run around the map and attack dogs that either team can deploy. It may not be a classic, but it’s exactly what Le wants to be doing. [IGN via Kotaku]
