I’ll tell you what’s missing from most iPhone pinball games. No, it’s not the tactile pleasure you get from pressing buttons and flipping actual pins. It’s metal. Fortunately, there’s Slayer Pinball Rocks HD, available now for iPhone and iPad. The game includes music from Slayer’s latest album, World Painted Blood, voice recordings from bassist and vocalist Tom Araya, rhythm-based mini-games and, to quote Slayer’s website, “a pinball environment straight out of your worst nightmare.”

Indeed. According to FingerGaming, Slayer’s pinball board lights up to spell out the following: “P-A-N-I-C,” “A-G-O-N-Y,” “M-E-L-T-I-N-G-F-L-E-S-H” and “G-L-O-B-A-L-G-E-N-O-C-I-D-E.” And of course, there are skulls and pentagrams galore. I’m not sure it’s possible to be frightened or repulsed by a pinball table, but this seems as close as you’re going to get.

At $2.99, Slayer Pinball Rocks HD isn’t the best deal for pinball on the iPhone or iPad — Pinball HD, made by the same developer, GameProm, has three tables for the same price — but Slayer’s app will work on both iDevices. Plus it has a greater chance of devouring your skull, or something. [iTunes via FingerGaming]
