Screens from the Upcoming Thor and Captain America Games
By Joseph Oliveto
Thor and Captain America will be the next Marvel heroes to get the big-screen treatment this summer, and while we’re certainly looking forward to watching these two icons kick some ass at the movies, gamers like to stay home and kick some ass on our own from time to time. Luckily, titles for both of these characters are in development, and we’ve got some promising images from them for you to check out.
SEGA is working on Thor: God of Thunder and Captain America: Super Soldier for the XBox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, and Nintendo DS. While we can’t blame gamers for being a little skeptical about these releases–comic book characters rarely translate to the video game medium as successfully as we’d like them to–we have to say, these projects look promising.
First of all, the developers of these titles understand that the gaming experience isn’t all about mindless action; we want a good story to, ya know, justify the mindless action. Thankfully, professional Marvel writers have put together storylines for each of these games that we hope will live up to all expectations.
But what excites us more, and will hopefully excite you, are the images we’ve got from the Playstation 3 and XBox 360 versions of these games. We all know not to judge a game based on graphics, but seeing Thor and Captain America in action has us looking forward to these releases. There’s reason to believe they’ll be pleasant surprises.
