Relax With the OneUps’ Super Mario Bros. Theme
Feb 24, 2010 - By Jared NewmanGood morning, everyone! GoNintendo brings us word of The OneUps’ chilled out Super Mario Bros. theme, featuring keyboardist Anthony Lofton and guitarist William Reyes. Those organ tones are just dreamy enough to linger in my head for a few hours as I get working. I’m a fan of The OneUps, whose best work includes a bossa treatment of the Zelda theme and a clever mashup of Sleigh Ride with the Super Mario World soundtrack (part of this album, which you can download for free). Unlike other video game bands, which are often fixated on turning 8-bit music into bad metal, some of the OneUps’ jazz inspired tunes are worth paying for, in my opinion.
