Walkthrough Wednesday: Red Dead Redemption Cheats and Tips

Creating or even following a Red Dead Redemption walkthrough is not an enviable task. Nicknamed “Grand Theft Horse” for its wild west take on open-world gaming, Red Dead Redemption’s missions can be tackled in any order, making it tough for walkthroughs to guide you through the game. But some sites are handling it better than others. IGN, for example, is compiling the entire guide by contractor. It’s a work in progress, but you can get through a solid chunk of the game with what’s posted. I also like Wikicheats’ Red Dead Revolver walkthrough, also in-progress, which clearly lists the prerequisites and rewards for each mission. If you’re more into video walkthroughs, Game Anyone? has an entire playthrough but be warned that the mission order might not be what you prefer.

Being a Rockstar game, Red Dead Redemption is also packed with cheats, which you can turn on just to have a little fun in the open world. To enable the cheats, go to the options menu, hit “Y” on Xbox 360 or “Triangle” on PS3, and enter the code you want. But once they’re active, you won’t be able to save or earn trophies/achievements. The most complete list of Red Dead Redemption cheats I’ve seen is at GameFAQs, reposted here:
