Realistic Pac-Man Caught in the Wild (Not Really)
By Jared Newman
Realistic depictions of Pac-Man usually involve dudes dressed in funny suits, but DeviantArtist Jaime Margary’s approach is a little more frightening. Pictured above is the Pakku rotundus, more commonly known as a Pac-Man. It appears to be frozen in a ghastly state of hunger, perhaps given the touch of death by Pinky, Blinky, Inky or maybe even Clyde. Ms. Pac-Man has been notified, I hope.
Pac-Man is the latest in a series of realistic video game character sculptures by Margary. To create them, he uses a base of clay, painted with acrylics, then sealed in resin, given the appearance of formaldehyde preservation. His other works include a goomba, piranha plants, a super mushroom and a blue koopa shell.
As for Pac-Man, his fate is sealed: A full lab study of the corpse is in order. I’ve always wondered how he digested all those dots and power pellets. [DeviantArt via Pixelated Geek]
