Porn Biz Wants a Hand From the Playstation 3
With the Playstation Network’s video download marketplace a rousing success, the porn industry now is looking for a piece of the action. Steven Hirsch, founder and chairman of porn’s biggest production house, Vivid, said distribution through the Playstation 3 has “real potential.” Vivid hasn’t submitted any formal requests to Sony Computer Entertainment Europe or America, but in Japan, a firm called DDM began offering porn through the Playstation 3 last month. Hirsch said that’s a start, and he hopes Sony consoles around the world will ultimately host adult videos. Before you chuckle, understand that the porn industry typically wields a heavy influence on the video industry the large, having been a deciding factor in the format war between HD DVD and Blu-ray. So who knows? Maybe this of all things could deal a serious blow to the Xbox 360’s video marketplace. [via MCV]

They were never a factor in any decision of the format war. Warner Bros. choice to go BD exclusive is what pretty much decided the war, not porn. Get your facts straight.

Although you are correct in this instance, Warner Bros was the deciding factor in the Blu-ray & HD- DVD war. In other format wars the Porn Industry was a very big factor. In this last war Sony wasn't going to allow the Porn Industry to even put their movie on Blu-ray discs but the Porn industry found some way around it and was able to do it anyways.
Now currently Porn can be found on Blu-ray & all over the internet for free so I don't know how much of a success it would be on the PSN. In fact I can see it coming to the EU & JPN PSN but I don't think it will ever see the light of day on the US PSN because American's are so uptight about sex.
Finally why would anybody really pay for Porn when it can be found on the internet for Free so easily.
