Pokemon Rumble: A Pokemon Game for the Rest of Us

There is something oddly soothing about this Pokemon Rumble trailer. Sure, it’s got crazy metal music and explosions of flight and color, but the muted screams of the Japanese copy reader seem to make everything alright. More importantly, Pokemon Rumble, which was released in Japan last June as Melee! Pokemon Scramble, will finally be coming to North America. For all the gamers that like the idea of Pokemon — essentially a deathmatch for creatures with all sorts of special powers — but aren’t too crazy about RPGs, Pokemon Rumble provides a pleasing, button-mashing alternative. The top-down action reminds me of something form the 16-bit era, but the real fun seems to be in the arena mode, which pits four players against each other. Release date for this WiiWare title remains unknown. [via Joystiq]
