3ds ad North American 3DS Ads Have Begun

Hackers might not be in “love” with the Nintendo 3DS, but newly released North American advertisements for the 3DS feature massive levels of gadget happiness. The ads have popped up on Youtube showing off a collective grinning and gawking at the device. No new information is being imparted by these ads, but the wild and animal like snarling of the actors make for a good laugh.

For your enjoyment here’s the 3DS ad, featuring over-the-top performances of people enjoying  glasses-free 3D gameplay. Or maybe, that’s the 3D taking an effect on them!

And now, for a British take.

Overall the ads really don’t push a hard sell on how neat the 3Ds will turn out. In Japan, the 3DS sold out on the initial launch day and we’re sure when it releases here it will have a massive following too. Otherwise the ad plays it safe and seems to be targeting both men and women alike. The one thing that stands out to us is the lack of actual gameplay in the North American advertisement unlike the British commercial featuring in-game goodness.

Maybe Nintendo should have just released the British commercial with a voice over by Alec Baldwin or even Charlie Sheen. Can you imagine playing Super Street Fighter IV 3d and winning? We can.

We’re excited about the Nintendo 3Ds, but Nintendo needs to add a little more kick to their marketing.

Thanks, Engadget.

Despite the terrible ads, are you still getting a Nintendo 3DS?
