Nintendo Patents a Wii Football Controller
By Benjamin Opal
Nintendo’s showing a strange affinity for motion control tack-ons with a patent on a soft football that stores your Wii’s remote. This kind of thing reminds me of the cheap, plastic Sports Pack that makes the remote more like a bowling ball, golf club or tennis racket, but as those add-ons are made by third-parties, I’m surprised Nintendo is the one filing the patent here. It kind of makes me think the company is trying to preempt this kind of invention from someone else, as throwing a football controller would surely cause an injury at some point, resulting in the inevitable law suit. That’s just a wacky theory, but I’m still not sure this would be any fun. [via Destructoid]
