Modern Warfare 2 Goes Gangsta With Dual Wielding
By Jared Newman
The Call of Duty series was never all that realistic, but I can see why some people are up in arms about the addition of dual wielding to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Apparently the PS3/Xbox 360/PC shooter, due out in November, will allow players to carry guns akimbo, though Infinity Ward community manager FourZeroTwo assures that the feature is “limited and balanced, just like EVERYTHING in the game.” Specifically, you can only dual-wield sidearms, and you lose precision and the ability to aim down the sights of the guns. Still, does this feature cross a line? I don’t think so. Modern Warfare departs from Call of Duty’s historical roots anyway, evolving ever-further into an arcade-style romp. It’s also become the shooter for the masses, so why not give the people what they want? [IGN via Kotaku]
