mike tyson game2 Mike Tyson Returns in Punch Out Style iPhone Game

No game could ever duplicate the perfection of Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out for the Nintendo Entertainment System — Punch-Out for the Wii came close — but that won’t stop Rock Software from trying. The iPhone app developer is working on a mobile game in the style of Punch-Out, with Mike Tyson as the final boss. Players control a tiny boxer named Little Sammy, whose backwards baseball cap makes him seem a little punkier than Little Mac, as he fights 10 boxers on his way to the title bout.

This isn’t Iron Mike’s first video game appearance since his license for Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out expired. Tyson had his own game, the poorly-received Mike Tyson Heavyweight Boxing for Playstation 2, and was also one of the cover athletes for EA’s Fight Night Round 4. But Rock Software’s game (simply dubbed “Mike Tyson mobile game” for now) has enough resemblance to the NES classic to bring back some serious memories. Let’s hope it isn’t a travesty.
