Even though I might be the only person who enjoyed collecting minerals in Mass Effect 2, I feel the pain of folks like Kabuto the Python, who has so much beef with planetary exploration that he had to rap about it. “Those Minerals” gets its groove from the ethereal music heard when scouring Mass Effect 2’s universe for resource-building raw material, and the hook deftly scratches together soundbites from Commander Shepard and EDI. My favorite line: “I used to rock microphones, rhymin’ in the stadium/these days, I launch probes mining for palladium.” A little variation in the flow would’ve helped, but maybe the straightforward rhyme is symbolic for the monotony of scanning planets. In any case, listen to the track at Tindeck, download it directly or check out the instrumental version. [Tindeck via Reddit]
