Man Sneakily Plays Halo in NYC Library, Gets Booted
By Benjamin Opal
A man in New York City tried to get sneaky with his public library’s Wi-Fi, setting up a simple but impressive rig for playing his Xbox 360. If you can’t tell, the console and wireless receiver are in the yellow bag, the controller is concealed by a newspaper, and the game is being displayed on a portable monitor. Hearing of this, I first marvelled at how reliable and fast NYC’s Wi-Fi must be, and then I wondered why this was not an acceptable use of the Internet. For all we know, it might have been okay if he wasn’t screaming instructions to his teammates through a headset, thus eliminating the purpose of concealing the whole setup to begin with. Says the library goer who spotted him: “Took him 20 minutes to set it all up. Took him 2 minutes to get kicked out.” [Tumblr and Flickr via Destructoid]
