Walkthrough Wednesday: Lost Planet 2 Hints and Tips

In Lost Planet 2, the previously-frozen world of E.D.N. III warms up a bit, but it’s still populated by slimy, nasty, giant monsters, so we’re here to help with a guide to the best Lost Planet 2 hints, tips, cheats and walkthroughs around the Web. The game was only released for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC yesterday, but GamerZines already has a full text walkthrough. For general hints and tips on Lost Planet 2, GamerZines strikes again with a handful of pointers, all of which adhere to the basic gaming strategy of “collect all you can, kill the deadliest bad guys first.” For something more technical, you’ll want to see this Japanese YouTube video, which should be decipherable even if you don’t speak the language.

Over at GameFAQs, a forum poster discovered a cool exploit, which I’ll just paste in full:

When holding a support weapon (shield or injection gun) hold start and press the back button.

You will start charging a mega attack and need at least 2 more people to come to you and press a button (AI works too, when charging it up they drop everything and come to you)

Then press and hold the right trigger and BOOM! Depending on what weapons your friends or AI have equipped the combined attack will differ.

Finally, Cheat Code Central has a handy list of bonus character skins and titles you can unlock:

• Albert Wesker Skin: Reach career level 20.
• Frank West Skin: Have a saved game file from the original Lost Planet.
• Machine Gun SP Weapon: Have a saved game file from the Lost Planet 2 demo.
• BSAA Title: Have a saved game file from Resident Evil 5.
• Devil May Cry Title: Have a saved game file from Devil May Cry 4.
• Street Fighter Title: Have a saved game file from Street Fighter 4.
