Walkthrough Wednesday: Spoiler-Free Heavy Rain Hints

The usual walkthrough and hint spots have made my job easy today, with plenty of Heavy Rain tips and advice to guide you. Best of all, you can peel back these Heavy Rain walkthroughs in layers, so you don’t prematurely run into any spoilers. Let’s start with some very basic advice, then we’ll get to the good stuff. I recommend reading Ars Technica’s Heavy Rain tips, which ironically recommend steering clear of the Internet (true story, I had some jerk spoil the plot twist for me on Twitter), but also says not to restart or switch off your system if something goes wrong — just roll with the decisions and you’ll have a better time.

If it’s a straight-up Heavy Rain walkthrough you’re after, check out Video Games Blogger’s massive compilation of videos, taking you all the way from start to finish (I say “why bother playing?” at that point, but that’s just me). You might get more use out of IGN’s list of Heavy Rain trophies, conveniently shown in collapsed view, so you wont see any spoilers just by navigating to the page. IGN also has a good ending guide that gives nothing away unless you scroll down the page. Because you can go back to pivotal decision points once you’ve beaten the game, you may want to follow the site’s advice, which will help you play in a way that requires the minimum amount of backtracking to see every ending.
