haloreach6 Halo: Reach Screenshots: Real, or Real Fake?

It’s not clear where these Halo: Reach screenshots came from. Someone named “Tom Morello” reportedly posted them on the MGS forums, where they were subsequently picked up by NeoGAF and the world. But now the original NeoGAF poster says Morello is a fake, leaving the origin of these new Halo photos a mystery. Of course, you don’t care about where they came from, you just want to see more, right? Onwards to the jump, where we’ve got a gallery of six.

I picked the most interesting shot for the top photo, as it shows a weapon we’ve never seen before. It looks like a Needler on steroids, which makes me happy because the Needler never got the love it deserved. Other clues from the screenshots below: A “privacy” option in the campaign menu implies drop-in co-op, and the Battle Rifle got a little facelift, with its scope protruding more from the gun’s base. We see four bars in the bottom right corner in one screenshot, suggesting you’ll be able to keep tabs on your squadmates’ health, and your health bar appears to have blocks, which could mean a combination of regeneration and health packs could be back in play. Is any of this real? Who knows — it’s a little odd that a prequel has more sophisticated weapons, though you’ve got to offer the fans something new. For now, gawk with a grain of salt. [via NeoGAF]
