Is it still too soon to get excited about Grand Theft Auto V? The fourth installment is a couple years old by now, and while Rockstar’s upcoming L.A. Noire ought to satiate our desire for sandbox style crime games, we’re getting a little impatient for a new installment in this popular franchise.

So, can’t blame us for making a big deal out of every little piece of news related to it. G4TV reports that casting may have begun for voice roles in the game, and while that’s not exactly “huge, oh-my-goodness-is-this-really-happening???” news, it’s something. Right?

Apparently, ads placed on ActorPages.com are asking for performers to take on several minor roles in the upcoming GTA title. Characters include Matthew, “A liberal young male who believes in a conspiracy made by Republicans to undermine America,” and Anthony, “A young, fast-talking boy fighting for the right of young boys to drink alcohol and have sex,” as well as a few other despicable lowlifes.

It’s nice to see that nothing’s changed.

Part of the appeal of the GTA franchise has been the fact that, while the games surely rely on a pretty standard formula, each entry into the series offers new features that differentiate it from its predecessors. We’re not sure what the folks at Rockstar have in store for us this time around, but if it is anywhere near as impressive as GTA IV, we’ll probably be raving about it.

What do you think the developers could ass to the next game to make it stand out?
