Gears of War 2: Game of the Year Edition Set for Sept. 1
By Jared Newman
Good things come to those who wait, as evidenced by the Gears of War 2: Game of the Year Edition that should hit store shelves on September 1. A year ago, you’d be shelling out $60 for the blockbuster Xbox 360 shooter, without any of the additional content that’s been released since then. Tack on the $20 “All Fronts” download pack, which includes 19 multiplayer maps and single-player level called “Road to Ruin,” and you’ll have paid twice the asking price of the upcoming GOTY edition. Gamestop has the new bundle on pre-order for $40, and you can order from Amazon for just $37. Caveat emptor: the content isn’t being bundled on the game disc; you’ll have to connect to Xbox Live and use a download card to get the extra maps. [via Examiner]
