Get Free iPhone Games Daily With FreeAppADay.com
By Benjamin OpalOver the holiday season, a Web site called AppventCalendar.com gave away one free iPhone game every day. I’ve now got some great games on my iPhone thanks to that promotion, so I’m happy to hear that the folks behind AppventCalendar are back with FreeAppADay.com. Just as the name suggests, the site posts up one free iPhone game every day — and not just the cheap chaff, but polished games that ordinarily cost a buck or two. The site launched today with Rope ‘n Fly, a simple time waster that has you slinging along city buildings Spider Man-style for the high score. There’s no catch, but Rope ‘n Fly developer Robert Szeleney kindly asks that you consider Rope n’ Fly 2, whose App Store link can be found directly in the game. If simple games like that aren’t your bag, you can set up e-mail alerts by genre so you’ll never miss a shooter or board game.
FreeAppADay.com is the work of ICS Mobile, advertising tech provider TapJoy and OpenFeint, whose community and achievement system powers lots of popular iPhone games. ICS Mobile’s Joe Bayen tells Pocket Gamer that they’ve got three weeks of free games lined up so far. “Our goal at FreeAppADay.com is to guarantee that smaller developers with polished apps will be able to monetise the process of giving away their game for free over the longterm,” he said.
