Fortune Cookie Wordplay … For Gamers
By Jared Newman
We’ve all been that douche who adds the words “in bed” to every fortune cookie, gotten over it, and rolled our eyes at the next douche who thinks it’s still funny. So here’s a new twist courtesy of The Modern Geek: Think of a video game that seems relevant to the fortune cookie you just cracked open, and add “in (Game X)” to the end. No, it doesn’t work as flawlessly as the “in bed” trick, probably because you’ve got 30 years of video game history to draw upon rather than two very evocative words, but there a few gems to be had.
For instance:
- Do not upset the penguin today … in Batman: Arkham Asylum.
- Judge each day not by the harvest you reap but by the seeds you plant … in Plants vs Zombies.
- You will always be surrounded by true friends … in Left 4 Dead 2.
- You are a person of strong sense of duty … in Call of Duty.
- Your skill will accomplish what the force of many cannot…in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.
There’s a Twitter page for this silly idea, and you can create your own with help from the Fortune Cookie Quote generator. Not a bad way to procrastinate on Friday, but I’ll take random video game names any day. [The Modern Geek via GameCulture]
