sonic4 For Sonic 4 Soundtrack, Twitter Backs OC ReMix

Sega may have already decided on a theme song for Sonic the Hedgehog 4, but now OverClocked Remix wants in on composing the soundtrack. The video game music remix community started chatting yesterday about writing the music for Sonic 4, and now a movement is growing on Twitter. OC ReMix fans are directing messages to @Sega and @SonicGames, making it known that they want Sonic 4′s soundtrack to be a community effort. There’s also a Facebook page, albeit with just a handful of members.

I wouldn’t scoff at this movement; OC ReMix composed the soundtrack for Super Street Fighter II HD Remix, which you can still download for free. But Capcom loves community fan service, and I’m not sure Sega will be as responsive. After all, we’ve been waiting for Sonic’s return to 2D platforming for about 15 years. In any case, check out OC ReMix’s existing body of work to hear what a Sonic 4 soundtrack might be like. And if you’re on Twitter, retweet away. [via OC ReMix, thanks H20Man!]

Why? OCRemix's SSFIIHDR remix was OK at best. If there's one thing about Sonic games, even if the game sucks, the soundtrack is great. Just leave Sonic Team to it.
You're a remixing website OC, don't get ahead of yourself.

I agree actually. I thought the Sonic 2 / Sonic 3 and Knuckles project was decent at best. I mean I would not want to hear that in a game. The problem is they make 16-bit music sound like stuff you hear at a club or professional composed. Now Sonic 2 HD files are amazing. They kept the feel. If anyone…. That team should work on the files, not OCREMIX.
