Evidence of Xbox 360 Pro’s Death Grows
By Jared Newman
Microsoft may not be talking about it, but the growing evidence that the Xbox 360 Elite will replace the lower-tiered Pro model is getting hard to ignore. The latest exhibit is a photo of Xbox 360 Elites on store shelves, including with comparison shots to the low-end Arcade model (the same thing happened to Arcade models a few weeks ago). Note that a column for the Xbox 360 Pro is missing completely. It’s also worth noting that both models include A/V cables, but there’s no mention of component or HDMI cables included; the former used to come with all consoles, and the latter was a perk of the Elite model. Now, Microsoft, we like price cuts and improvements to SKUs, but not at the expense of cutting corners. Let’s hope this rumor isn’t entirely valid. [via Engadget]
