Duke Nukem Forever is Delayed. Yes, Again.
By Joseph Oliveto
By now, Duke Nukem Forever has become little more than a punchline for gamers. Originally announced in 1997, the game has been in development for more than a decade. Thankfully, Gearbox Software eventually took over and announced a May 2011 release date. However, according to 1UP, it has been pushed back yet again.
Now we hear that the game, which will be available on PlayStation 3, XBox 360, and the PC, is supposed to get a June 10 international release date and a June 14 release in North America. Because honestly, what’s one more month when we’ve been waiting for this title for 14 years?
On the one hand, it’s a testament to the entertainment value of the Duke Nukem franchise that we even care about this game anymore. On the other hand, for those who have been waiting this long for its release, is it possible that the game will ever satisfy their expectations?
Well, with the release date only a few months away (allegedly), we’ll soon find out whether or not it’s been worth the wait. In the meantime, enjoy this video preview.
Do you think this game can live up to your expectations? Are you even looking forward to it anymore?
