Dead Space 2 is On the Way, Says EA
By Jared Newman
You knew Dead Space 2 was coming, but now you know that you know it’s coming. Electronic Arts confirmed today that it’s not going to let Dead Space die on just one iteration, announcing a sequel for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC. Instead of merely discovering the nasty Necromorphs on a space ship overrun, the protagonist Isaac Clarke will be taking the offensive, using “new tools to gruesomely slice and dismember” his foes. New characters are also promised, along with the zero-G scenarios that helped earn the first game high praise. No word on release date, but there are boilerplate PR quotes for you after the jump!
“We’re thrilled to jump back into the series, making the next chapter in Isaac’s journey. The infection continues to spread throughout space and our hero Isaac Clarke is the only person able to contain it,” said Steve Papoutsis, Executive Producer of Dead Space 2. “In Dead Space 2, not everything is exactly as it seems. Expect plot twists that will surprise you and a huge cast of twisted, disgusting monsters that are sure to scare the daylights out of you.”
And here’s Nick Earl, Senior VP and Group General Manager at EA: ”Like so many gamers worldwide, we love the Dead Space franchise and are very excited to announce a new game in the series.” So yeah, don’t expect a shortage of Dead Space games anytime soon. [via PR]
