Kurt Cobain in Guitar Hero 5 Makes Courtney Love Want to Sue

Although Courtney Love apparently signed off on the appearance of Kurt Cobain’s likeness in Guitar Hero 5, she’s livid with the results and may sue publisher Activision. Cobain, the late frontman for 90’s grunge act Nirvana, is featured in the game along with two songs from the band. But what really ticked Love off was a Guardian post by Everett True, pointing out how Cobain can actually be used to sing any song, including Bon Jovi and other 80s cheese. We’d previously heard the Love was pretty darn obsessed with every last detail on Kurt Cobain’s appearance in Guitar Hero 5, but now she’s totally flying off the handle. So, here’s what Love said that indicates she’s going to sue: “WE are going to sue the s— out of ACtivision we being the Trust the Estate the LLC the various LLCs Cobain Enterprises.”

And here’s something bizarre, for good measure: “YOU for dismissing me as a LOON, go f—ing play guitar hero commit necrophilai KNOW you are raping me and my family mother in law child”

We know better than to dismiss Courtney Love, but we’ll stay out of her way nonetheless. Meanwhile, Activision calmly reminds MTV Multilplayer that the company “secured the necessary licensing rights from the Cobain estate in a written agreement signed by Courtney Love to use Kurt Cobain’s likeness as a fully playable character in Guitar Hero® 5.”
