Update: The contest is now closed. We had a ton of great responses and it breaks my heart that I’ve only got codes for three of you. Thanks for participating and I hope to see some of you back here or on Live. The winners will be contacted shortly by e-mail.

Halo junkies, if you’ve got an itch to play the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta, we might be able to help with some early access codes. Microsoft is sliding three codes our way that’ll let you start playing the game on April 29. That’s five days before the millions of people who will get access through Halo 3: ODST, and you won’t even need a copy of that game to play. Plus you’ll be able to face off against random game journalists (I’m ThePimpOfSound if you want to tangle) and countless Bungie VIPs. Swanky. So lets have a contest, shall we?

Here’s how to enter for a chance at one of the codes:

  1. “Like” GamerCrave on Facebook (see below).
  2. Post one comment (no more, no less) here on anything Halo related, using a valid e-mail address (not published, but I’ll use it to contact the winner).
  3. Enter by April 29, when I’ll pick the winners. If we have several pages of comments, I’ll use a number generator to pick three pages, then I’ll select my favorite comments from there.

To win, you must “Like” us on Facebook AND post a comment here.  Please use Facebook Connect to comment if you can, as it will help me cross-check the winners. You’ll also need access to Xbox Live to download and play the beta, obviously. Good luck!

    I have devoted most of my teen life to Halo. Its the reason i got xbox live so many years ago when i was in ELEMENTARY school! Now a senior in highschool you should see my room. Big 56″ TV with amazing 7.1 surround sound and an awesome gaming station. I have a fully “Halo” decked out room, from everything to posters to cut-outs and many other Halo merchandise. I am a huge fan and like everyone else CANNOT wait for the beta. I would to be able to play early please help me out? It would be very gratifying. THANKS!!!

    How does the Plasma Repeater work in Halo: Reach? This type of technology may not be out of our current human science. First of all, us humans need to build reliable fusion reactors that are small enough to fit on our backs or in guns. Now we have a power source that is almost infinite. Then, we need to superheat gas so that it is stripped of electrons, making ionized gas (plasma). The hardest part would be the firing mechanism. Would it fire in packets of superheated plasma in packets held together by magnetic fields? It would be rather difficult to make, but it looks like we could have a gun like this in at least 200 years. It is actually rather surprising that they are using gas-operated guns 500 years in the future, because we could have Plasma Rifles along with high powered lasers (which they have).

    Got to love Halo combined with science.

    Halo: Reach will be a New and Improved Halo, with Epic Weapons, and other new features like Jetpacks and beam Rifles. This new Halo will be Epic.

    I love you guys :D Just the sense that I am entered in a contest with billions of other make me feel soooo hyped. Ive been waiting for reach since I bought ODST. I bought ODST just to try it. If i was to get the key I would skip school, skip work, and skip family issue just to play it. Well good luck everybody else.
