Assassin’s Creed 2 Cutscenes: Three Hours Long
By Jared Newman
Grab some popcorn and buy some candy beforehand (they’ll rip you off once you’re inside!), and get ready for three hours of cutscenes in Assassin’s Creed 2. That’s not the official word from Ubisoft, but that’s what the British Board of Film Classification determined after reviewing the game for a rating. “When submitted to the BBFC the linear elements within the work had a running time (eg cut scenes) of 181m 30s,” says the board, noting that the estimate includes a one minute and 30-second trailer for the upcoming Avatar game. I’ve got no qualms with lots of cutscenes, as long as the dialogue and story aren’t corny and trite, respectively, and video games tend to have a poor track record. We’ll see if Assassin’s Creed 2 breaks the mold when it arrives on November 17 for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. [BBFC via Destructoid]
