ff14 Apply Now for the Final Fantasy XIV Beta

At E3, Sony and Square Enix were already hyping Final Fantasy XIV, and now you can get in line for the beta, a day before Final Fantasy XIII’s release in Japan. This is for the game’s PC version only, so if you’re a Windows gamer, go ahead and fill out an application. A few other stipulations to note: You must be 18 years of age or older and hold a Square Enix account (get one here), and obviously your computer must be capable of downloading lots of data from the Internet. Square Enix will also want bug reports in either English, Japanese, French or German, so be prepared to help out.

Otherwise, don’t be shy. The order in which you apply has no affect on whether you get picked. Square Enix says everyone’s invited to apply, regardless of their MMORPG experience. They’ll be looking to tweak game balance and mechanics before an official release, over the course of several beta tests. Once you’re in, you’re in for all subsequent tests, but you don’t have to re-apply for each round if you don’t make the initial cut. Playstation 3 owners? Your recruitment details come later. Final Fantasy’s foray into MMORPGs is due out next year, but no date has been given. [via Joystiq]
