8-Bit Wedding Invitation is an Incredible Adventure
By Jared NewmanJust when my fiancee finished picking the invitations for our wedding, these 8-bit wedding invitations come along and make me feel totally one-upped. Forget the etched envelopes and lacy cards, Niko and Darina’s invitations came with an actual video game, which you could play as either the bride or the groom. It’s basic Super Mario Bros. and Donkey Kong fare, leaping across platforms and stomping baddies, then hopping over barrels to take on a grey gorilla, though I don’t know why this monster would want to get between such a cool couple.
You must beat the game and save the spouse to unlock the wedding information, but there are two difficulty levels that should allow everyone to get the necessary details. Also included in the invitation is pixelated artwork and a sweet jewel case commemorating the game, entitled “Incredible Adventure.” Not invited? No problem, you can still download and play the invitation yourself. The wedding’s in May, in Berlin. Best of luck to the happy, geeky couple. [Offbeat Bride via Mashable]
